Preschool Storytime - Letter m

Today's 'm is for mittens' craft
It was so great to be back to our Preschool Express storytime! We picked back up with letter 'm' and read a story about an impatient moose who had a hard time waiting for the letter 'm' and a story about a woman who would knit mittens and hang them on a spruce tree by the school bus stop. Here is a recap of what we read, sang and created today! Feel free to have your child bring an item to each week's program...search your house with your child for items that begin with the letter "n" for next week's program!

Books we read today:

"Z is for Moose," by Kelly Bingham
"The Mitten Tree," by Candace Christiansen

Songs we sang today:
"Making Muffins" (Laura Numeroff)

Want to make muffins a special way?
Then do what I do and say what I say!
Ready? (ready!)
(repeat each phrase)
Scoop, scoop, in goes the flour
Crack, crack, in go the eggs
Sprinkle, in goes the sugar
And a splash of milk, and a pinch of salt
Oh no! We forgot the berries!
Have to go pick them so let's get dressed!
Zip, zip, zip up your jacket
Pull, pull, pull on your books
Run, run, out to the bush
And pick, pick, pick, pick.
Scoot, scoot, back to the house
Zip off your jacket
Slip off your boots
Plop, plop in go the berries
Stir it up, stir it up, stir it up
Drop, drop, drop in the batter
Put it in the oven
Tick, tock, set the timer
And wait, and wait
Ding, ding, ready!
Blow, blow, cool 'em off
Yum, yum eat 'em up!
Ah...muffins!

"Each Mitten Has a Mate" (Carole Peterson)

Each mitten has a mate, has a mate (clap, clap)
Each mitten has a mate, has a mate (clap, clap)
It's part of our game, find the one that looks the same
Each mitten has a mate, has a mate.
