Travel and Transportation

Books we read today:

"The Three Little Rigs," by David Gordon
"How Will We Get To the Beach," by Brigitte Luciani

Songs we sang today:

"How To Stop The Train"

To stop the train
In cases of emergency
You pull on the cord, pull on the cord
penalty for improper use...five pounds!

Motions for song:

STOP - hold both hands in front of you, palms facing forward
TRAIN - elbows close to body, arms horizontal, hands facing each other...move them back and forth like train wheels
CASES OF EMERGENCY - make fist with hands...open and shut as if blinking lights
PULL ON THE CORD - arm extended above head, pulling down on cord, repeat motion several times
PENALTY FOR IMPROPER USE - wag scolding finger several times in rhythm
FIVE - hold five fingers up
POUNDS - clap hands together once

Start song singing slowly, then repeat 5 times singing and doing motions faster and faster.

"Airplane Song"

Get in your airplanes and off we go
Going to the park is first, you know.
Now slow it down and land on the ground
And when you get out you're gonna jump all around.

…California…spin all around
…New York City…gallop all around
…playground…dance all around

Get back in your airplanes, it's time to go home
Your family and friends are waiting you know
Now slow it down and land on the ground
And come sit down in your own hometown
