Preschool Storytime - Letter o

Today's "o is for owl" craft
The stomach bug caught up with me, so I wasn't at work last Friday for Letter n week, but glad to be back for a great Letter o week! We read a story about a snake and had fun with opposites and read a fun story about what it would be like if we had eight arms like an octopus! Here is a recap of what we read, sang and created today! Feel free to have your child bring an item to each week's program...search your house with your child for items that begin with the letter "p" for next week's program!

Books we read today:

"Opposnakes: A Lift-the-Flap Book About Opposites," by Salina Yoon
"My Octopus Arms," by Keith Baker

Songs we sang today:

The Opposite Song by Dr. Jean (we used shaker eggs with this song)

We can do opposites, opposites, opposites.
We can do opposites follow me.
Top and bottom...(act out motions)
Front and back...
Happy and sad...
Left and right...
Up and down...
Loud and soft...
Open and shut...
Stand and sit...
and put them in your lap!

We also played a fun opposites matching game, which I found on this site: http://www.playdoughtoplato.com/2013/02/13/the-opposite-game/ Each child was given a card, then they took turns putting them on the flannel board and whoever had the opposite card would come up to make a match!
