Songs we sang today:

"The Giant Carrot"

The carrot in my garden, I planted weeks ago,
Just keeps getting bigger, you ought to see it grow.
It came up to my knees, and then up to my hips,
Giant carrot, giant carrot, you're taller than my trees!

I'm going to pull you out, pull you out!
A little seed that grew so big, who knew that!
We'll shake it to the left
Shake it to the right
Giant carrot, giant carrot, please come out! (chorus)

Along came the miss' to help her farmer man
She held on tight with all her might, she pulled so hard so hard...
(chorus)

Along came little Abby to pull the carrot out
She held on to the rest of them, she pulled so hard so hard...
(chorus)

Along came the dog to pull the carrot out
He held on to the rest of them, he pulled so hard so hard...
(chorus)

Along came the cat to pull the carrot out
She held on to the rest of them, she pulled so hard so hard...
(chorus)

Along came the mouse to pull the carrot out
He held on tight with all his might,
He pulled to hard so hard.

(chorus)

Winter Storytime - Letter U

Letter U is for: unicorn, umpire, uniform, umbrella, underwear, ukulele and up!

Books we read today:

"Underwear Do's and Don'ts," by Todd Parr
"Mushroom in the Rain," by Mirra Ginsburg

Songs we sang today:

"Where, Oh Where's My Underwear?"

Where, oh where’s my underwear?
Where, oh, where, can they be?
I can't find them anywhere
They must be hiding from me!
Looked in the drawer, looked on the floor
I looked all over my room
I can't find them anywhere
Maybe they flew to the moon!

Where, oh where’s my underwear?
Where, oh, where, can they be?
I can't find them anywhere
They must be hiding from me!
I asked the dog, asked the cat,
Asked the goldfish too
Nobody's seen my underwear
Maybe they went to the zoo!

Where, oh where’s my underwear?
Where, oh, where, can they be?
I can't find them anywhere
They must be hiding from me!
I found a doll I thought
I'd never see again
I even found my skateboard
Behind the sofa in the den
I found a sock I thought I lost
A long, long time ago
My underwear has disappeared
Just where I'll never know!

Where, oh where’s my underwear?
Where, oh, where, can they be?
I can't find them anywhere
They must be hiding from me!

Winter Storytime - Letter T

Letter T is for: tiger, turtle, toes, tooth, truck, tomato and tree!

Books we read today:

"Bear's Loose Tooth," by Karma Wilson
"Mr. Merlin and the Turtle!" by Lydia Monks

Songs we sang today:

"Wiggle in my Toe"

There's a wiggle in my toe,
Teacher don't you know,
I'd love to stop the wiggle
'Cause it makes me want to giggle.
I've done everything I can,
And I wanted you to know,
I just can't stop
The wiggle in my toe.

Now there's a wiggle in my feet,
And I think I should repeat
That I'd love to stop the wiggle
'Cause it makes me want to giggle.
I've done everything I can,
And I know that it's not neat.
I just can't stop
The wiggle in my feet,
And in my toe.
OH, NO!

Now there's a wiggle in my seat,
And just like my feet
I'd love to stop the wiggle
'Cause it makes me want to giggle.
I've done everything I can,
And I know that it's not neat,
I just can't stop
The wiggle in my seat,
And in my feet,
And in my toe.
OH, NO!

Now there's a wiggle in my knee,
And it sure bothers me.
I'd love to stop the wiggle
'Cause it makes me want to giggle.
I've done everything I can,
And I hope that you see
I just can't stop
The wiggle in my knee,
And in my seat,
And in my feet,
And in my toe.
OH, NO!

Now there's a wiggle in my tummy,
And it's not very funny.
I'd love to stop the wiggle
'Cause it makes me want to giggle.
I've done everything I can,
I even tried a little honey.
I just can't stop
The wiggle in my tummy,
And in my knee,
And in my seat,
And in my feet,
And in my toe.
OH, NO!

Now there's a wiggle in my arm,
And it's doing me no harm.
I'd love to stop the wiggle
'Cause it makes me want to giggle.
I've done everything I can,
And I hope you're not alarmed.
I just can't stop
The wiggle in my arm,
And in my tummy,
And in my knee,
And in my seat,
And in my feet,
And in my toe.
OH, NO!

Now there's a wiggle in my hand,
And it's nothing that I planned.
I'd love to stop the wiggle
'Cause it makes me want to giggle.
I've done everything I can,
And I hope you understand.
I just can't stop
The wiggle in my hand,
And in my arm,
And in my tummy,
And in my knee,
And in my seat,
And in my feet,
And in my toe.
OH, NO!

Now there's a wiggle in my head,
And it's something that I dread.
I'd love to stop the wiggle
'Cause it makes me want to giggle.
I've done everything I can,
I even tried a nap in bed.
I just can't stop
The wiggle in my head,
And in my hand,
And in my arm,
And in my tummy,
And in my knee,
And in my seat,
And in my feet,
And in my toe.
OH, NO!

Now there's a wiggle in my hair
And I think that I'll stop there...

"Brush Your Teeth"

When you wake up in the morning at a quarter to one
and you want to have a little fun,
You brush your teeth ch ch ch ch, ch ch ch ch....

When you wake up in the morning at a quarter to two
and you want to find something to do,
You brush your teeth ch ch ch ch, ch ch ch ch....

When you wake up in the morning at a quarter to three
and your mind starts humming a tweedle dee dee,
You brush your teeth ch ch ch ch, ch ch ch ch....

When you wake up in the morning at a quarter to four
and you think you hear a knock at the door,
You brush your teeth ch ch ch ch, ch ch ch ch....

When you wake up in the morning at a quarter to five
and you just can't wait to come alive,
You brush your teeth ch ch ch ch, ch ch ch ch....

"Tiny Tim"

I had a tiny turtle his name was tiny tim.
We put him in the bathtub to see if he could swim.
